RED ROCK, TX – It was a dreamy spring day as I drove down rural backroads to get to Molly and Brandon’s home in the woods near Bastrop. As I pulled into the driveway, Betty and Topher (their two adorable dogs) ran out to greet me joyfully! The light filtered through the tall pine trees and I could hear wind chimes softly singing in the distance – it was a perfect day to capture love!
Molly and Brandon’s home was built by Molly’s parents back in the 70s and is nothing short of a bohemian paradise. Crystals, dried flowers, plants, beautiful light and positive energy are in an abundance here! I felt right at home and these two have such a genuine passion for each other and creating beautiful spaces so it made my job extra easy! They met 5 years ago and work in the same salon now (they are both amazing hair stylists!) and built a solid friendship before it blossomed into a beautiful relationship. This session was a two part adventure, starting indoors with cuddles, kisses, pillow fights and coffee! As the sun set, we soaked up the golden hour light in their backyard forest – yes, I’m not kidding, it was incredible! – and wandered through the trees while the wind whispered sweet nothings gently through the tall grass. Molly’s backless dress showed off her stunning tattoos and of course, I had to get an image of their ‘his and hers’ Doc Marten boots!
Molly and Brandon are obsessed with documenting their travels via polaroid, so when Molly approached me about doing a “just because” session at their home, I was all in. “Just because” sessions are a great way to document the little moments in a familiar space without the stress of an event. It’s all about you, your love and your space! A “just because” session is special because it focuses on emotions and small everyday details of your life, capturing your aesthetic and relationship in a timeless and candid way that you will be able to fondly look back on for years to come.
