Q: How long have you been a photographer?
A: For 17+ years! My passion started with joining the high school yearbook team and since then, photography has always been a constant in my life. I attended Texas State University's Fine Art Photography program and worked as a product photographer and owned a creative business once I graduated. I started specializing in weddings and couples in 2016 and it has been the best decision I've ever made!
Q: How many weddings have you photographed?
A: I've photographed over 150+ weddings and clients as the lead photographer. And since there's only 52 weekends in a year, my weekends have been basically filled with love stories and celebrations since I started! I only take a limited number of weddings per year so that I can truly focus on each couple and give them the experience they deserve.
Q: What kind of equipment do you use?
A: This might start getting a bit technical, but I personally use Canon R6s with prime lenses and zoom lenses. Both are on me throughout your wedding day so I never have to worry about changing lenses, switching memory cards, or changing batteries during key moments. Every moment matters - and this is where the years of experience really kicks in.
Q: Do you offer any albums, prints, canvases, guest books, etc?
A: Totally! But I want you feeling 1,000% comfortable and excited about the quality of your photographs before placing orders on those. That way, you only order exactly what you want, when you want, and when you know with confidence that they are going to look amazing on your walls and in your fine art heirloom albums. And all of this is done & ordered right through your online gallery!
Q: Do you offer payment plans?
A: Yes, I do! Traditional payments are a 25% nonrefundable retainer due at the time of booking (within a week) and the remainder of the final payment is due 30 days prior to your wedding day. If you wanted to do the alternate payment plan, I can stretch it into equal 1/4's if that works best for you. (25% due at contract signing and 3 payments of 25% due in between with the last payment due 30 days prior to your wedding date.) Just let me know what you prefer, and I will make it happen. It's that easy.
Q: God forbid, what happens if you aren't able to make it to our big day?
A: In the unlikely event that I am too ill, injured, COVID positive, or if there's some other emergency, I have a list of trusted colleagues that I can call on to replace me that have similar styles of photography. I would still edit your photos so they would be in the editing style you love. I will never leave you without a photographer to capture your wedding day no matter what, so don't worry about that. You're in good hands. I promise.
Q: How many images will we receive from our wedding?
A: I guarantee 50 images per hour and generally deliver between 500-700 high resolution images for a typical 8 hour wedding day. I have personally found that delivering more than 700 images can be overwhelming, so you won't receive any duplicates or unusable photos (blinking, blurry, etc.) With that said, if I feel there are more images that tell your love story, I will absolutely include them in your gallery. :)
Q: Are you a licensed and insured business?
A: Of course! Your wedding day is extremely important to me so that means no cut corners on my end. I am more than happy to provide a copy of my liability insurance if your venue requests it.
Q: Do you have a list of preferred vendors you love to work with?
A: I sure do! From wedding coordinators to florists and makeup artists, I have worked with some of the best wedding vendors in Dallas/Fort Worth and would be happy to share their information with you. Speaking from experience, your wedding vendor team greatly affects the success of your wedding day so make sure to book vendors who fit your style and personality and that have 5 star reviews.
Q: How do I book you for my wedding day?
A: Love that question the most! Please fill out my contact form and I will be in touch within 48 hours with more information on pricing, more answers to frequently asked questions, and additional information on my booking policies.
Wow. Want incredible photos with the best experience?? Look no further! Bailey is an amazing photographer. Having a photography business myself I researched practically every wedding photographer in the DFW area. I could tell when photographers were just slapping a filter on their photos without putting in the extra effort to edit. Bailey does not do that. You can tell that she takes her time to produce incredible images that make the two of you shine!! I’m not a fan of the muted, washed-out photos and that was another thing that drew me to Opal & Onyx—her pictures have color in them! They are a beautiful reflection of what your wedding day actually looked like. The pictures (and video, if you have that) are what you have once your wedding day is over—it’s worth the investment!! We are so thrilled to have beautiful pictures to look back on and reminisce our wedding day. Beyond that, Bailey is extremely reliable, professional, and encouraging. Out of all of our wedding vendors, Bailey with Opal & Onyx Photography was my absolute favorite.
