The Grand Ivory was designed with lighting in mind and is one of my favorite outdoor wedding venues in Dallas. This all white wedding venue has a beautiful covered outdoor ceremony space that overlooks a large pond. It also has a fully outdoor ceremony space to choose from. The bridal suite and grooms suite are in the cutest natural light cabins while the reception area is an elegant white Texas barn.
My favorite thing about this venue is the quality of light and amount of backdrop options for photos. Unpredictable Texas weather? There are covered areas with beautiful diffused lighting. This venue is built with photographers in mind and it truly shows in your wedding photos! As an experienced Dallas wedding photographer, I can recommend this venue with full confidence to couples who value photography and want to spend extra time on their wedding day soaking up every moment together.
What is it like getting married at The Grand Ivory?
Jessica and Sean’s wedding at The Grand Ivory is one that I still think about often. At our first wedding photography planning meeting, they expressed how much photos mean to them. I suggested doing a first look to maximize the amount of couple’s portraits they would receive throughout the day. We had so much fun exploring the grounds and we were even blessed with a beautiful Texas sunset! This wedding filled my little photographer heart to the brim and I am so grateful to have met these two beautiful souls. This wedding was a great reminder of why I do what I do.

The First Look
Jessica chose a small bridal party of her closest friends and family. As she prepared for her first look with Sean, there were plenty of happy tears. Sean gifted her a custom makeup mirror and ring dish, while Jessica gave Sean a pair of custom cuff links that said “I love you! – Jessica” and “The Start of our Happily Ever After.” I love photographing the little meaningful details that tell your wedding story!
A first look is the perfect way to schedule more time for photos on your wedding day. Usually the formal family photos, full wedding party photos, and couple’s photos are all scheduled during the cocktail hour after the ceremony but by doing a first look, you can knock out most of these photos earlier in the day and spend more time with your wedding guests. Wanting to go the traditional route? No problem! We can discuss your vision during the booking process to make sure your wedding day is as magical as you imagine.
The Reception
Jessica and Sean are both huge hockey fans, so naturally the groom’s cake reflected their love for the sport! These two wore hockey jerseys for their engagement session and brought a custom made flag featuring both of their favorite hockey teams.
Nothing beats a good round of wedding corn hole! After their portraits, the bride and groom played a quick game before heading onto the dance floor. Scheduling time for moments like these on your wedding day is what makes the experience so enjoyable! Your wedding day should be whatever you want it to be; let me help you build your timeline to reflect what is important to you.
Jessica and Sean’s reception at The Grand Ivory was an absolute blast! Both love Blink-182 so there was a great mix of music to dance to. I couldn’t stop singing along!
Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Humphrey!
